The Barn-Inspired Silhouette
The Barn-Inspired Silhouette is a personal residential venture by Tino Architects, designed as a contemporary four-bedroom home within the high-end estate setting of Pomona City, Harare.
The project reinterprets the familiar barn form through a refined architectural language of steep gabled rooflines, dark standing-seam metal roofing, crisp white walls, natural stone textures, and generous glazing. The result is a home with a strong, recognisable profile — calm, grounded, and timeless, yet distinctly contemporary.

At the heart of the house is an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge space designed for modern family living and effortless entertaining. Large glazed openings bring natural light deep into the interior while creating a close connection to the garden, pool, terraces, and outdoor living areas.
The four-bedroom layout balances openness with privacy, offering generous shared spaces alongside quieter personal areas. Internally, warm finishes, soft lighting, clean detailing, and carefully framed views create a sense of understated luxury.

As a personal architectural venture, the project reflects Tino Architects’ ongoing interest in designing homes that are intentional, timeless, and rooted in place. The design uses the simplicity of the barn silhouette as a starting point, then elevates it through proportion, materiality, light, and contemporary estate living.
