The client, realizing their 1970s classical home no longer suited their needs as their children had grown up and moved over seas, sought to refresh its design and func tion. The challenge lay in modernizing the house’s outdated functionality, addressing the sloping terrain, and repurposing unused rooms. They admired our contemporary projects but wanted a blend of barn house and Mediterranean styles. We responded by transforming underuti lized spaces into versatile areas for the couple’s current lifestyle and reimagining the sloped site to enhance outdoor living and took advantage to insert an infinity pool.

The prominent sculpture proposed for this property serves as a captivating focal point for visitors, catching the eye immediately upon entering the gate, throughout the ap proach to the house, and even from within the home. The elevation highlights a strong sense of symmetry, reflected in every care fully designed element of this beautiful residence.
The barn architectural style boldly intersects with the classical de sign, creating a striking contrast. This interplay is emphasized by the distinct black-and-white color scheme, highlighting the unique fusion of the two styles.

The Victorian windows, crafted from powder-coated mild steel, and the zinc roofing ma terials contribute to the design’s unique aesthetic. The high-pitched roofs not only allow for a vaulted ceiling but also flood the interior with natural light. A BBQ space, directly accessible from the kitchen, has been introduced, seamlessly integrating with the TV lounge, entertainment area, and infinity pool.
Additionally, the roof garden, accessible from all three bedrooms, enhances biodiversity and improves air quality within the rooms. The frontage offers stunning views of the beautiful garden and mountainous landscape, an opportunity the previous house design failed to utilize effectively.
